Course Overview
This 3-hour intermediate CE course examines the changing landscape of health care in the United States over the past several years, with a primary focus on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). It explains the background, history, and legislation behind the law and reviews its major provisions so you can better understand how health care reform affects consumers, employers, and the insurance marketplace.
What You Will Learn
The course is organized into five areas of study: the background, history, and legislation of PPACA; the implementation timeline and a brief overview of the health care law; available plans and enrollment procedures; the cost to taxpayers and laws affecting small businesses; and ways agents can stay involved through training and resources. If the law is changed or repealed, supplemental lesson material is added over time to keep the course current.
